I'm on the autism spectrum. I can never be “authentic” like what the neurotypical crowd expect me to be. Everything about expressing emotions feels hard to decipher. And yet, I spent every minute and every second trying to decipher what I am feeling, what other people are feeling, as if it gives me a stronger idea of who I am.
So, I made this confusion into a surrealistic approach in music production.
If people listen to my music and think it is “cold”, "flat", "repetitive" or "too convoluted", then yes, they are interpreting it in the right way. I am obsessive and repetitive. This is who I am. If this does not “fit the market”, I do not care. I am making music not to fit in, but to find my soul and my inner despair.
